Sterling Forest Fire Company was established in 1960 and is currently staffed by Volunteer Department Members who donate many hours each year to provide stand ready emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Skipped meals, lost sleep and forfeit of a predictable routine are only part of a volunteer’s life. Emergency Calls come without notice or concern of scheduling and take priority over time with family, work, and play. Volunteers continuously fulfill required training, drills, and ongoing education for new concepts, equipment and tactics. Officers are dedicated further in that they train and instruct drills and constantly maintain procedure with an Incident Management System that provides a basis for clear communication and effective operations for incidents of all sizes and types.

Financial Assistance maintains our presence in the community, while the Fire District through the taxpayers money, purchases and maintains the Apparatus and equipment. Like the other two fire companies, Sterling Forest Fire is financially responsible for it's facility and grounds keeping.

The financial burden of the building, grounds and maintenance that accompanies this firehouse is financed by the community through donations, Sponsors and participation in Social Events held at the firehouse. These events help bring the community together and support the department financially. They provide the opportunity to show off the facility, apparatus and equipment that this support has provided. Donations provide for Sterling’s meetings, training, continuing education and post action review following drills and calls. Continued public support has permitted Sterling Forest Fire Company to remain steadfast in its role as the communities’ protector.
